Sara J Kerr BA MA is a PhD candidate and Hume scholar at Maynooth University
Sara took her undergraduate degree, a BA in Ancient History and English, at Queen’s University of Belfast, being awarded a Foundation Scholarship in her first year. In 2006 she completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Educational Learning and Development through distance leaning at the University of Lincoln. Sara took a distinction in her MA in Education competed part time through distance learning at Edge Hill University. She won John and Pat Hume Scholarship at Maynooth University to read her PhD in Digital Humanities and English.
In 2001, Sara completed her PGCE with Qualified Teacher Status focusing on secondary English. Over a period of 12 years, she has taught English, Media Studies and Film Studies up to A-level at several schools in the UK. Her most recent position, before moving to Ireland and starting her PhD, was as a Deputy Curriculum Team Leader and Head of Department.
